- Wed Apr 07, 2010 10:02 am #186029 Ok every one my friend have a gsr but its obd2 what would i need to make it work in my car since it is an 1992 dx?
Can i use the 1994 dx harness that is in my car or does it have diffrent plugs. I was told i could use that harness and wire vtec threw that

- Wed Apr 07, 2010 10:32 am #186033 if you can getthe vtec plugs then your set to go ahead and wire them into your ecu and youll want to run i think an obd1 p72, or you would end up needing to run a obd2 ecu youll need the jumper harness for the ecu and obd2 dizzy etc....but you should be fine to run a obd2 motor in an obd1 car with your stock dx harness wire in vtec plugs and yea use the obd1 dizzy and p72 i think....

- Wed Apr 07, 2010 12:52 pm #186052 all you need to do in convert your dx harness to vtec, and add a knock sensor if your not using a chipped comp., and either change injectors in the gsr to obd1, or put obd2 inj clips onto your dx harness, if you have the stuff id recomend the first, as it is less work, and msd makes a 30$ jumper to use a obd2 dist in a obd1 car, this would be cheaper than chasing down an obd1 dist. as far as ecu id get a usdm or jdm p72, or a chipped p28 as a last choice, its very straight forward, allmost all the stuff i have ran most of its been obd2 there really isnt much difference
