#115800 My passenger side hatch glass support bolt is stripped out, and every so often when I pop the hatch, the arm drops down and creates dents along my trunk. As a minor side effect, I can hear my hatch glass rattling against this loose arm when I hit bumps.

How can I fix this? Does the threaded piece on the hatch glass remove easily? Or is this like, an integrated piece that would require a whole new hatch glass to fix?

Thanks :-D

#115803 The little black threaded pieces come out fairly easy. Can't remember exactly but i think they are 2 seperate pieces the screw on with the glass sandwiched between them. You should be able to get the pieces from honda.

#115973 Sweet, thanks for the information everyone.

:woot: good to know I don't gotta pull hatch glass (unless I manage to bust it when replacing the plastic pieces which would suck).

#117305 Just ordered them off Majestic Honda and total came to $25 shipped. Not bad, probably could have done better (and free if I found a hatch in a junkyard) but at least I know they're on the way from the dealer.

By the way, thanks everyone for your help ;-)

#118349 Parts just came yesterday, after which I noticed that nothing holds them together save for the threads on the support piston.

So why, I asked myself, is mine so easily sitting there in the glass? Turned out that all the white buildup you see in the first picture was some kind of adhesive used to hold the pieces in the glass, as well as to partially make up for stripped threads in the nut.

I was worried I was gonna blow the glass out trying to get it off but fortunately a wood shim and some gentle pressure was able to tear the adhesive :woot:
