- Thu Apr 02, 2009 3:11 pm #107696 I have a 92 CIVIC CX, from my knowledge all 92 civics were pre wired with Vtec on the body harness...So Vtec wiring shouldnt be a problem as long as im using an engine harness wired with vtec.

I bought a d15z1, sold the engine, and am using the wiring harness off that. Seeing as how the motor came out of the Civic VX it is already wired up for vtec.

...Bottom list are things im not sure about...

1.Now there are a few wires that I am unsure of their location or meaning. First off is a 3 pin wire next to the distrubutor. Colors are (Yellow/white..White/Black..Green/white). The connector itself plugs into an EGR I had laying around from an F22. But I thought the vx didint have EGR. What might this connector be for?

2.I cant seem to find the o2 esnsor wires? Does the VX civic have a 1 wire or 5 wire o2?Also I wasnt planningon using a factory o2. I have a AEM UEGO, I was plannign on having it hooked up all the time. From my understanding, cant I just splice the single white wire(o2 signal) from the gauge to the one o2 wire on the civics body harness? And just adjust the wideband o2 so it reads as a narrowband? And adjust it back to wideband when tuning?

3.There is also an 8 pin connector with 7 pins installed near the distributor wires? I have no clue what its for?

4.There is also a 2 pin connector im unsure about. Wire colors are (Yellow..Green/Black). Reverse sensor maybe?

5.There is another 2 pin connector colors are (Blue/Yellow..Yellow/Black) Is this IACV?

6.Also there are 2x 3 pin connectors. I know one is TPS, is the other one the map? I thought the civic had the map mounted on the firewall, or is that aniother sensor I dont need?

7.I am going to be running a tuned p28, so I can disbale the knock sensor so thats not a problem. Im not using the intake butterflys so thats not a problem either. Nor do I want EGR.

- Thu Apr 02, 2009 4:24 pm #107714 i kinda skipped over all what you wrote, but if you don't do something about the egr, you will keep getting a cel. i don't have an egr hooked up in my car. and cel comes on everyonce and awhile throwing the egr code. i will take a look as soon as i can where those wires are connected on my engine. if your not gonna use the egr, send me everything, solenoid, connectors all of it.

- Thu Apr 02, 2009 6:47 pm #107763 Id appreciate that, and what all do you need? Im using a tuned p28, so I have the ability to disable lnock, o2, and what not.

The o2 is whats really getting at me right now. I want to use my wideband o2 but im not sure if I have the concept on how to do it. From what I understand, I can hook up the AEM UEGO's o2 signal wire into my ecu and it should read the narrowband as long as I have the controller set correctly. I know someone on here knows If I have the right concept though.

Also what all do you need for the EGR? Just the valve, and wiring? PM me.

Only thing now, is if I have a 5 wire o2, which I think is the 8 wire moles with the 7 pins in it. Please someone help me there. I should need any of those wires now correct? Only the one that Im splicing the gauge into correct?

- Sat Apr 04, 2009 12:03 am #108195 i don't remember if engine harness is from the prelude or if it's from the civic. engine was already installed when i got the car, so i don't know wire colors are the same. most should be close.

this is where it is on mine, i think this is the one your talking about. the wires come out of the cap and plug into an 8pin with 7 wires.

this is the 3 pin connector that i found near the cap. it plugs into the module just behind where the plug is show, its out of focus. thats the egr valve.

that is my tranny where it plugs into, i don't know what those wires are for.

5.There is another 2 pin connector colors are (Blue/Yellow..Yellow/Black) Is this IACV?

on the intake manifold there are two sets of plugs that were 3 plug and 2 plug, the first picture is the 3 plug, i think they were yellow/black, red with something and green with something. the second picture is on the front of the intake near the iacv.

i don't know which ones these are. you have pics of them?

this is all thats required for the egr, i've only got the valve on the back of the motor.
