#78649 It mounts on the front support frame. It bolts right up no need to drill

#78717 I had the same problem bud. Just to clarify things up, the tow hooks arn't actullay designed to be used. They are there for show only. You can mount them anywhere, most mount it under the bumper at the front to the radiator support, which will require drilling. Also, as shown above, you can purchase that bar, and mount it to that. But that bar is also just as weak as the fron radiator support, thin metal.

As these are for show only, I got rid of mine lol.

#78770 damn colonials and their metal support bars!! :P

cheers for clearing that up...best get the drill out then.

i know they arent to be used and are for show, hence why i dont want to attach it the actual towhook.

WTF are you smoking kid?? I cant believe you're that retarded. Dont go spreading untrue info around the site please.

Tow hooks do serve a purpose. Drag cars get towed up to the line by them, cars that break down on the track get towed off by them, and I'm sure there's more uses for them as well. Then of course, there's the few like SlipCivic that put them on for show.

Most people will never really need them. I used to have them on my car. The ECU in my car took a crap mid street race and I had to have one of my friends tow me back to my house. Thats the only time mine ever got used, so I took them off.

......oh yeah, BTW, that front impact bar is nowhere near as weak as the front radiator support. Its like a 35 pound chunk of steel.

#78785 I wasn't talking about EVERY tow hook mate, I know tow hooks serve a purpose ffs... lmao I aint even gonna waste time typing because you're admin, and it aint worth the argument.

So yeah, bolt your front tow hook on and use it, watch your front rad support bend / rip off then, seeing as Honda only spot weld them on... and you know, seeing as I've had to replace 2. What are you gonna tell me next, that you can jack the car up on the front rad support

For the record, I had one of them front bars shipped to me from the US, and it was weak as fuck. OEM part too.

As a matter of fact, you can. On the bottom of the radiator support, on the drivers side (USDM Civics) there is a metal plate welded on with two lil bumps (dont know of any other way to describe it), thats where you jack the front end up at.

Yup, its cool as f*uck, but you need to run something better than a 17 sec quarter mile to enjoy doing it. Someday you might know all about it.Image

Mine is bolted on not welded

And the tow hook comes stock. It seems to do alright. Pretty sturdy.

#78801 Ok, firstly I said the radiator support is spot welded on, not the tow hook. Secondly, that OEM tow hook is not bolted to the radiator support, but the chassis.

From what I belive, it's a Coupe thing? As my Hatch didn't come with the front OEM tow hook, but my Coupe did.

The J's racing tow hook bolt up where the OEM one goes. The proper place where you should tow the car.
