- Tue Jul 10, 2012 12:33 am #310459 i am in the process of doing a bay overhaul. was wondering what everyone was using for seam sealer? plan was to remove all(as much as i can) the old junky looking seam sealer, prime it n then seam seal it. i would like a sandable option if possible.
do i have the process correct?
any advice would be helpful.

Why would you prime it then put the sealer over it? You can paint over most sealers and in my opinon it looks a lot better colour matched, if you're going thru all the time of taking it off why not just get the car seam welded? A lot more rigid

To my knowledge you prime first bc if you don't moisture can get in there n rust.

it might effect it during a collision not 100% on that

They aren't welded because its to time consuming and not cost effective..
