#10696 I just don't want names to be throw out here i am kind of using this as a poll and as a sort of review for myself and others. So please when you post a tire that you have used or are using please post AS MUCH INFO AS POSSIBLE (i.e. how long they lasted; compared to other tires you have used how loud are they, how is there wet tread, how is there dry tread, how is there cornering etc.)

Now this IS YOUR OWN OPINION so no one persons response is wrong or needs to be scrutinized or flamed. Please help me help you help everyone.
Thanx

#10697 Dunlop SP 9000

Tread wear is average so far i have put about 7k on them and they are showing minimal wear, however, with the neg. camber and pos. toe the insides on the front are 1mm less than the rest and the rear having neg. camber and no toe is about the same.

Noise is not so bad the first 7k but after that they start to get a little nosier than before, not annoyingly noisy but noisy

Corning is awesome i have been able to corner at more than 1g with these tires and still have great contact

The compound is soft but not really soft like the RT615 (Falken) they do take a little longer than some tires to warm up but when they are warm they are very sticky.

When i drive in the rain i do nothing different than when i am on dry roads. The only thing that should have close attention paid to is the medium to hard braking and the noise.

That is all i can think of right at this time....

#10767 Hankook great tires for traction and they wear pretty good.. I have a set on mine and love the cornering and how they stick to the road would recomend :thumb: I use to have a set of Nankang but hated them they use to spin up very easy and had no grip at all

#10789 are you referring to all the hankook tires or one in particular?

#10792 i like yokohoma es100 the thread wear is so so, they do wear out pretty quick it these tires lasted me about 6-7 months with very aggressive driving, stiff sidewalls great wet traction, even better hot traction. corners exellent. great bang for the buck i say but if u want even better go with falken azenis heard great performance reviews on those... havent tried them tho. :D hoped i helped :thumb:

#10877 Ive got Toyo Proxes T1-S

I bought them 2nd hand on my fat fives, ive done about 4000 miles on them and never lost any traction, wet or dry

Grip very well in the dry, can throw it into any corner and live and my cars standard suspension just now.... never really tried to push them in the wet as i dont want to kill myself... but never had any problems under normal use, even quite heavy braking in the wet they have been fine

Road noise isn't bad IMO, had quieter tyres but id rather have more noise and more grip than a quiet ride and risk crashing

So far the tread has worn evenly, and no noticeable difference from when i bought them really

Overall id definetaly recommend them - i need 2 new rear tyres and will definetaly buy the same again - they're not even that expensive :D

#10881 Here's a tire the often goes un-noticed........Sumitomo.

At first I was a lil skeptical :? I didnt want to put crap tires on and not be able to get them to hook when leaving the hole, or banging through gears. Lost traction is lost time.

The model tire I have is the HRT 200.....
http://www.sumitomotire.com/theline/pro ... c=per&id=5

This tire is durable, and has held up very well under my abuse. The front tires at 18-20psi stick to the ground nicely when leaving the line. :D

Its also supposed to be an excellent tire in the rain, but living in the desert.....I really dont get too many chances to put them to the test.

#11160 Yeah i was looking at getting 2 new ones but a friend of mine told me they've been discontinued and that they are being replaced by the T1-R

The new tyres meant to be better in the wet are pretty much the same price so ill still go with them i think :thumb:

#22786 Bridgestone Potenza SO-3 pole positioned,

These tires are kinda pricey but they handle really good on dry or wet conditions. and have a good sidewall too for constant sharp turns as i did on grip runs, down mountains,

Life they last a good while and the compound that they are made off is really good , ill find more info to provide but i love those tires.

#22794 the brand silverstone (malaysian brand tyres) may not be faimiliar to the american members, but im sure the aussies and the kiwis will have heard of em.

Silverstone STZ 195/50/15
my first set of tyres, got these with my first set of wheels. crap. absolute crap.
low grip, squealed like a two year old toddler throwing a temper tantrum in corners.
didnt test the wear as i got rid of them fairly quickly for:

Yokohama A520 195/50/15

Best tyre ive had so far. i havent gone through many sets of tyres though.
grip was good, and the tyre was very responsive. good bang for the buck. in the wet, these tyres are scary.
it didn't last very long, but it lasted a little over a year so i guess it held up pretty well. i loved these tyres. shame they're discontinued.

Dont ask me why i went back to silverstone. i was broke and the civic needed new tyres urgently.
grip is decent, quite resistant to aquaplaning. but omg its like driving on sponges. they're so squishy and soft. not a responsive tyre.
had them for over 7months and they're still new lookin, but i hardly drive the civic. im thinking of trading em in and getting a set of parada spec 2 or the eagle f1 gsd3. oh and i HATE the tread pattern on this tyre, it looks awful. especially the sidewall. god they look like atv tyres from the side.

#22803 Yokohama ES100s
Treadwear 280
these are my daily tires..cheap and good traction and decent treadwear. They have prove themselves in various terrain and weather. These tires have longer treadwear than the falken 512s i had that were rated at 340! I've gotten about 33k miles on these badboys before i bought my 2nd set.

Toyo Proxes FZ4
Treadwear 300
Not bad for what they are as far as price. They have pretty good grip and have good treadwear. I think this is a good daily tire for daily driving with a little aggressive cornerning here and there. I got a good 40k on these.

Bridgestone RE750
Treadwear 340
good tires for all season while given optimal traction in those conditions. Bit pricier than the yoko or falkens but defintiely good tires and last lonst at 340 treadwear. I got a good 45k on these.

Bridgestone RE01-R
Treadwear 180
pricey but one of the best tires for road racing. Higher slip angles than the Azenis but horrible in the rain.. not such a good idea for that..lol for maximum dry traction for fairly cheap these are good tires. If i had money for tires all the time, i would go with TOYO RA1 or Yokohama Advan A048s
i had about 15k on these

all sizes were used were 195/50/15

IMO, tires are like shoes, you need to have the appropiate shoes for the job. I dont wear running shoes to play basketball. Sure i can but I know I want some basketball shoes as they have benefits being specifically designed for that kind of wear.
