#93682 Im looking to get some ARB's for my car, original plan was to go with 98 spec Integra ones which are 25mm at the front and 23mm at the back, but finding a front one is proving a bit tricky!!

Was thinking about going aftermarket - heard alot of good things about Whiteline ones for example. Had a look on their site and they offer a 27mm front and 24mm rear one, but im wondering if there's any downfalls to fitting a huge ARB, or is it a case of the bigger the better?

Ive heard of the rear subframe requiring extra bracing so would obviousely be getting an ASR brace or something before i fit anything!! But i take it there are no such issues at the front?

If anyone has any ideas or recommendations for other brands and combinations that would be a big help as i dont know much about ARB's at all!!

#93688 I wouldn't bother with a front one.

Unless you're tracking it and you have a serious rear bar you'll just introduce more understeer to the car.

My setup is a 20mm adjustable out back with a standard VTi bar up front all poly bushed up. It's fantastic, lift off oversteer at will and less understeer when you've got your foot to the floor.

I was originally going for the 18mm one but the guys I ordered it off didn't have any stock, so I got the 20mm at a discount price.

If I was going to do it again I would consider larger bars all round, maybe Cusco's 25mm at the back and a 24mm front or something like that.

Good thing with the whiteline bars is they do have some adjustability, for instance the 20mm has two positions, one is similar to how a 19mm would feel and the other is more like a 20-21mm so you can tweak a little bit.

I'd suggest whiteline all day long as they're fitting kits are great and they are very well priced.

As I said you could try Cusco, or get the full ASR 24mm kit with the whiteline front if you want to really firm everything up.

Mine does still roll a bit when I'm going for it (so I've been told) but it's minimal tbh With that in mind you could go for beefier bars.

If you're a mentalist you could get the 24mm whiteline with the ASR 32mm. That will probably make you shit your pants on the road with oversteer lol

I'd sell you mine but I can't take anything off until April at the earliest.

Hope that helps a bit ;)

#93694 But i dont have any ARBs at all just now?! This whole oversteer thing REALLY doesnt appeal to me, i want a very neutral car that understeers if anything!!! Thats why i was planning on the ITR setup as after having driven a 98 spec i loved the way it handled, and when you pushed it you knew it was just going to understeer a bit, then grip again - thats what i want with my car too :P If i can get my car to handle remotely as good as the Intgra id be very happy

I appreciate the oversteer would have a sharper turn in blah blah but its not for me :P i highly doubt ill be tracking my car so maybe a whiteline kit would be overkill...

#93698 The ITR is more balanced because it's longer.

In a hatch with a shorter wheelbase it's a bit more clicky.

tbf neutral handling is a bit fuzzy. To me, neutral is more a hint of oversteer should I need it... with understeer only appearing when you mash your foot to the floor.

I think you'd be very happy with a standard front ARB and an 18mm rear bar, you'll only provoke that if you drive like a tool which is as it should be really.

imo, anti roll bars are pretty fundamental. You don't realise just how different the car is without them until you've driven it with them on. They do make a hell of a difference. I don't think there is such a thing as 'overkill' with them as long as you know what you're after. Only the last setup I mentioned would be overkill as you would probably be sideways entering the corner and driving it straight with the throttle and steering dead centre.

Even if you just got standard VTi ones (I do have them in my garage plus the front LCAs to mount) you'd notice a difference. IIRC the front is a 22mm and the rear a 16mm or something like that.
