#37694 So I got a hb with 2 after market springs in the front and stock springs in the back. I cant even install my header because that'll give me about .5in clearance. I've never changed out springs before but first I need to know what to buy. I want something a little lower than stock but not too much. Also something very stiff. Does anyone have any recommendations on what spring shock combo to buy? No coil overs.

#37797 Well, you wont get something very stiff and not so low wiht a spring. you will need at least a sleeve type coilover set up like ground control.

Any good setup will run a chunk of change. My suggestion would be to get a true Full coilover setup like, Tein, Ksport, D2, Form and function, and some others. You can find good deals on them from arround 500+ The Tein will cost more and wont be as adjustable if you get the Tein basics.

#37836 Even those Cheap-o eBay coil-overs work pretty well. If you are rolling on a very low budget and need(read: "want") to lower your car its a good way to go.

They work awesome for me.
I would recommend the better coil-over kit. Sure the eBay ones work, and they take corners like nothing else. The More Expensive Coil-Overs will give you a Nicer ride. However, I have no complaints about my Ride. Then again I put my cheap-o coil-overs on next to brand new OEM Struts(I Have family that works at a Junkyard, He grabs some of the good stuff for me and I even get a Family Discount). On your older OEM Struts I cant Grantee anything.

Its all about how much you want to spend, or rather, how much CAN you spend

#37840 Right now i'll be willing to spend 500 for basic coil over set. Now I dont know jack about suspension so if i get full coil over do i need to change out struts?
so lets say if i get somthing like this:
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/GABRIEL- ... 0190043148
is this all i need to buy to change out my suspension?
How much clearance above the ground will a 1.4 in drop give me

Thats a complete swap out set, So Yes, Thats is all you need to swap your stock struts.

I have a -1 inch drop on my car so it will be a bit lower then My Car. Not by to much though.

#37844 eibach sportline or pro kits are good springs.

tein also makes some springs that have a decent drop without too stiff of a ride.

perhaps reading this might give you a better idea.

Tein's fucking rule I love mine

#79067 I would highly recommend you ditching the springs and purchasing a full coilover system. They're fairly cheap nowadays. Find a good used set of Tein Flex's and you'll be set. Do it right the first time...

#80951 I'm using H&R Sport Springs and KYB AGX Shocks. It's pretty stiff and gives the right amount of clearance. The springs can be found on ebay for $230 shipped. I love my suspension setup and I recommend it.
