#217933 Do manufacturers make spring/shock combos that are made to work well together? Or is there a set of spec numbers that i should pay attention to when matching springs and shocks? I read the 'Somewhat guide to Suspension' thread and learned a lot, but was left wondering how to best match the two, without the knowledge from experience. This will be my first build and I'm not looking to slam the car, just make it stiffer, something fun. It's a hatch, if anyone has any tried and true, less expensive set-up info that would be great. If i missed an old thread my apologies, I'm new here, even a link to info is appreciated. Thx guys

#217952 The best will be Koni yellow (strut) + Ground Control Coil over kit. The best and expensive.

But I look at it this way, you can always send it back to Koni to re-adjust your settings and no need to throw anything away. :thumb:

#217984 I belive I have Tokico Blues and Ebays Coils on my Delsol. It Rides really really good, not bouncy in the least. A Few of my buddys Ride on KYB Gas Struts and ebay coils and they also have a pretty good ride in their cars.

If I was going to redo my Suspension I would go with something like K Sport Kontrols or GodSpeed Coil/sleeve setups, I have heard nothing but good about both of these. I rode in my friends EF wagon dumped so low its exhaust caught on man holes but it still rode like a dream.

#217996 I would really like to go with a coil over set up, but i dont think i have the money...This is gunna be a newb question but if i were to get a coil over, such as the Ground Control kit mentioned earlier, why would i need the Koni strut as well? Isn't a Coil Over kit everything one needs to replace the stock Shock and Spring set-up? Say I have $800, would a low range Coil Over kit be a better option than a mid-range Shock and Spring combo? Thx again

#217999 The coilover kit from Ground control is the spring and the sleeves. It slips onto the koni yellow struts.

But if you want a complete coilover system, what chrono404 suggested will be the cheapest if i am not mistaken (K-sport or Godspeed).

and you want to read this thread before you pick your setup.

#218010 The Coil sleeve kits such as ksport and godspeed are the way to go IMO. Not only can you choose to go lower then on normal struts/coils. you have more control over where its adjusted. (long spring travel and smaller strut or vise versa, the Ksports are super adjustable like this.

You can also change how stiff you want the coils to be. You can super raceday stiff, or soft as oem soft for the daily commute.

#218018 Sweet, ya i read that thread 'a somewhat guide to choosing your suspension' it was what made me think originally of going with the shocks and springs, essentially because of the price. But it looks like I can get those godspeed coil over kit for well under $800, and the adjustability would be a huge bonus. One guy claimed he paid $500, (http://www.jdmuniverse.com/forums/honda ... overs.html) and that's the complete kit it appears...That would be great! They say something there about the ksports not being of the best quality, and that those godspeeds look like really good build quality. I haven't really bought any car stuff online do you guys have a reliable source?

I almost always buy my autoparts off ebay. You buy from venders that have high ratings and use paypal. if you get bad parts or ripped off. Paypal will give you your money back. Hard to find better prices online with more safety.

#218232 Awesome thanks for all the help, I think I'm going to go with the RS from godspeed, they appear to have really good build quality, and it looks like everyone that has them is happy. This site is Gold, can't wait til I can post pics of my build!
