#160974 i was driving home and one of my frount wheel studs snap. i purchased a new one and the old one popped out fine cuz it was smaller but now the new one is to long and i cant slide it in. it hits the suspension. im wonderin if i have to take off the hub to slip the stud in. heres pics.

u can see the hole and whats hitting it in the middle.

do i need to remove the axle nut and then the hub?

#160975 you have to get it pressed out. any shop with a press can do it. some shops may be expensive some may not.

#160981 yea. you need to take off the axle and axle nut and take it off the car.you dont need to disconnect the brake line but you need to take the caliper off (its only 2 17mm nuts i think) and the rotor. it would be easier and may in some cases be cheaper to just bring the spindle up there for them to press it on and off.

#160984 grind some off the stud itself. i just put in extended studs, and there was no way of gettin around takin it all apart. but when looking into it i found DIY's on h-t on the "not manufacturer recommended" ways :P

you dont need to buy an axle nut. you can reuse your old axle nut.

#160999 If you dont have a socket big enough you can rent one or buy one mine was $15. I think the size is 32mm for the axel nut.

#161126 Just rent one from autozone it's free, and if you don't have a torque wrench rent one of those as well.
