#65065 VERY IMPORTANT!!!!

If you're going to wire a starter button into your car, make sure the button/switch is not a Normally Closed button!!!!

My live and learn example: Pick'd up momentary push button from Radio Shack... Installed relay ... did all the wiring ... installed the button/switch... with my head under hood and right foot in front of front right tire..went to connect battery negative....... as soon as terminal touches battery negative.....

STARTER CRANKS with MOTOR IN GEAR!

Again, make sure the switch is a normally open not normally closed switch.

#65078 Ouch.. Are you ok bro? Y'know, I don't understand why they put cars in gear when they turn it off.. Back home, in neutral is just fine. And plus my car now I leave it in neutral. :D Just wondering, and I hope you didn't get yourself hurt dude. :thumb:

Yes, I did get hurt (not physically but ego wise) The motor didn't start, just lurched forward.

I always leave my car in gear for the anti-roll function. Because when I hit the start, I'm always clutching anyway. Although, my current set-up doesn't need the clutch engaged to start, I think it might be a good idea to have the circuit go through the clutch relay before starting.

*note to self: pass start signal circuit through clutch relay.
