#40535 Does anybody know where I can find a power source so that when the engine of my civic is switched off it's live, when the engine is switched on it's no longer live.

I wanted to fit a 'knight rider' effect LED bar on my dash to represent an alarm system in my car. I've tried every connector on the steering colloum but they either seem to be active all the time or just not at all when the cars running.

I tried to fit an alarm system to my car, but the alarm wasnt giving enough power to power the LED bar.

Help :?

#40540 Why not just run it to a constant power source, and then put it on a switch?

You turn the car off, flip a switch, the light comes on.

You can use the alarm hooked up to LED's. Not directly but you can.

I dont see why you can't hook a relay up, and then feed another power source from the battery. All the alarm wire would need to do is send the 12v single to the relay. The relay would switch, and then the power source from (from the batter) is flowed through the relay to your underbody.

Hope this helps
