- Wed Sep 08, 2010 5:54 pm #212781 hi guys, just recently all the lights on my climate controll went out, the radio works, cluster works,clock works. its just the lights on the climate controll.the climate controll functions perfectly, its just i cant see it light up at night. is there a fuse i should check ? i dont think its a burnt out light cuz there all out.
Additional info. i havnt touched any wiring/ messed around with anything for a while in the EG so could cause it to go out. and if its a burnt out fuse. were should i check for shorts ?

- Thu Sep 09, 2010 8:47 am #212867 is it all like the A/C, vent/recirc, footwell/dash/split vent buttons too? or just the fan speed and cold/hot area? If its EVERYTHING, you may have a bad connection somewhere, if its just the lower, its just the 1 bulb that illuminates that area.

- Fri Sep 10, 2010 5:29 pm #213034 There are 2 bulbs in that area, my climate control has the same problem...the wires are kinked in there from the factory. If you get it open you can re-arrange them so they make contact again. I did that and once I put it all back together it didn't work again, I gave up...ill tackle it again someday. Try bumping your dash on the side, that works sometimes.

yeah its everything, probably gonna pull it out and see if im getting voltage to the bulb. is there a write up on how to remove it? or any idea how many bolts/screws needa be takin off to take out the climate controll ?

- Fri Sep 10, 2010 10:08 pm #213068 If you pull the cigarette lighter console and radio out, look for the big connector at the back of the firewall area, see how it connects with the green cconnector to the back of the climate control unit. Before you take out the complete unit...see if the connectors have come undone. If you still want to take the unit out, there is 1 screw on each front side of the unit an I think 2 on the middle sides. Be careful of sharp metal pieces under there and the main control cable, you don't want to kink that. You hav to disconnect the large connector behind the radio to pull the cc unit out. I would leave the lights on and wiggle stuff before tearing into it all the way. Prolly one of the connectors since they are all not working.

- Fri Oct 15, 2010 9:56 pm #218493 well got the cig consol out today, took the 2 screws out from my radio but it didint want to push out ? guess i need to find the radio key things to slide it out. i also jiggled around the plugs slaped the controll to see if it would start working again but it didnt. the lights on the buttons work but the lights on the sliders dont. temp and number ones. is it one bulb? i realy hope its just a bulb and not an electrical problem cuz i know it will bug me untill i fix it
