cluster problem

- Tue May 11, 2010 9:55 am #193006 hey guys, been driving round in my ej2 with b16a for a few days, a problem started lastnight- when driving along normally the rev counter would sit fine but as soon as i put a bit of gas on it the rev counter would bounce all the way around to the redline, and back and forward and now the speedo dont work. can anyone offer a suggestion? stuart

- Tue May 11, 2010 1:56 pm #193031 your cluster is going to go bad soon.. thats just how it is... you'll be able to hit it with your hand for a while to get it to work, then it will just stop working


time for a new cluster.


other than that, you could check your wire connections, but most of the time, its just the cluster going bad

i just recently had to swap mine out. after changing the VSS and the speedo was still going crazy, i knew it had to be the cluster. it was also not showing my RPM's correctly. i guess they can be a bitch to find but, definitely very easy to swap out :thumb:

i thought it was the coil in the dizzy going bad. cheers for the reply guys.

Also the car for the time being has the 1.5 lsi exhaust and cat still on it, could this be causing back pressure?
