Ok I just finished relocating the battery to the trunk so i can continue with my wire tuck. current projects include a 93 civic ferio clone, and a 96 ek hatch type r/sir clone. anyway after hooking everything up and checking all my wiring, i'm blowing a 40amp fuse i have hooked up for the starter. i currently have 2 8 gauge wires 1 for the starter and 1 for the fusebox. on a distribution block. to a 4 gauge back to the battery. i have an msd ignition hooked up with the wires running back to the battery. and a fuse hooked up to my amp in the trunk. also a 3 farad cap hooked up. what would be causing my starter fuse to blow. is it not big enough. thanks

You should never have a fuse to the starter. The starter will actually pull upwards of 100A for a brief second. The battery should be connected directly to the starter, then you run at least an 8 gauge wire to your under hood fuse box, just like factory. Distribution blocks should really only be used for the ground.
8 gauge is not thick enough for your connection between the battery and the starter. The factory wire is at least a 4 gauge. The primary purpose for having a battery is to activate the starter after all. It's second job is to filter the fluctuations from the alternator. And then to store the memory in the ECU and radio. The alternator is intended to run everything else except when your engine isn't running.
