- Tue Oct 05, 2010 4:31 pm #216965 Hey, so for some reason my fuel and temp gauge are broken... when i start my car, they would all jump up and stay there.
Do any one know what could be the problem?

- Tue Oct 05, 2010 8:39 pm #216991 There are coils on each gauge. The end of the coils, very thin microscopical wires are soldered to a designated spot. As far as I know, those wires come loose and this leads to the needles jump up, because there is nothing to regulate them.

I hope you understand what I said, because I am a little tired and I can't get my thoughts straight.

Basically - they need to be either re-soldered or you need to buy a new cluster.

Ofcourse, wait for a second opinion.

I read you loud and clear. No wonder when I was inspecting the gauge, I saw a small wire dangling there. If I re-solder it , does it matter have to be in an exact location?
