#185525 So my sister has a 94 coupe with a B18 non v-tec, her car has the P28 ECU(vtec ECU), I have a D15B vtec with a P06 ECU(non vtec ECU)

If I traded her ECU's would it affect the performance of her car any?

#185527 for one the p28 unless its been chipped wouldnt run her car any better than the p06 i mean it might lean it out cause its a 1.5 l ecu and the motors a 1.8l but yea shouldnt be too many ill effects from it...

#185543 If she doens't have any Check engine lights her car is probably Chipped. In Which case its programed to run a b18 engine and isn't looking for vtec.

If you put your ecu in her car the engine will be running lean and will eventually damage her engine. If you get your ecu chipped and have a b18 base map put in you can trade ecus and have a d16z6 base map loaded onto your new p28

It wont actually run lean but the fuel and ignition tables are not mapped for that motor so it will be less than optimal.

I think you should pop hers open and determine if it has been messed with. But if her engine is stock or near stock, I would replace it with the correct ECU regardless. There is so much crap wanna-be tuning on Hondas / Acuras out there it is just unbelievable. And then you could take hers if it's unmolested. Buying her a B18B ECU will be cheaper than buying yourself a P28 anyway.

#186125 Thanks alot for the information, so if her P28 is stock and my P06 is stock, it won't make any difference perfomance wise? that's what im getting at .
