#179453 man that sucks! on my switch i have to ever so slightly turn the key clockwise from the off position before it releases but it doesnt really sound like thats your problem. if you dont want to replace it you can always take the actual switch off of the key cylinder even though your steering wheel will still lockup... nothing a hammer cant take car of lol then you can be broke-ass like me! damn theives! :x

#181925 So lets work this out here. Is it stuck with the key in it? Or is the key out and you cant get it to turn? Have you used a lubricant on it?>

#181928 my key got stuck a couple weeks ago and i forced it so much that i actually broke the key in there. Why dont you try just changing the cylinder? its a easy and cheap fix. Cost me like $17 at the parts store with two keys.

#181933 because sometimes all you need is a $3 can of Tri-flow and it works perfect. why didnt you try getting new keys? most major locksmiths can make you a key that will work perfectly again even if your key is worn out. At a third of the price too. And when i say locksmiths i mean a locksmith shop not your local grocery store that makes keys :P

New is good though, definitely not raggin on ya just saying.

#181940 yea some lube might do the trick, worth a try and cheap. The only reason i didnt just make new keys is because it seemed more like a cylinder problem. my friend lost his keys to his 240 a while back and the charged him like $40 just to make him new keys at a locksmith. kinda scared me so i just went with a new cylinder. Anyways, try not to brake the key in the ignition. :thumb:

#182130 Yes, if you remove all the plastic around your steering column than you insert your key and turn it one click over (should be one lol) to the ACC mode and if you look you will see a pin about the perfect size for a pen to decompress and just pull and it will come out.

#182149 oh well then i would suggest to goto your local Napa or autozone or car quest and get one from them. I know napa and carquest carry them but idk how much. make sure you get one that is uncoded! lol

#183435 But then the issue of you having to take it to a locksmith to have it rekeyed to your key that fits the doors or just use 2 keys comes up.

edit: Getting one that is uncoded means that it comes without keys and sometimes it is cheaper to purchase it and then just take it to a locksmith and have it rekeyed vs. buying one already done up and having a locksmith dissasemble it, rekey it then re-assemble it. Which in some cases may cost you more. It all depends on the locksmith shop thats doing it though. Some wont even do hondas cause they can be a pain. Personally i dont mind doing them but thats just me.
