while driving my speedometer goes to zero and check engine light comes on,later it starts working by it self. any ideas why this may happen?

Do you know witch fault code the ecu gives?

its probably the VSS

no i dont know any codes,went to discount auto parts and they said ,they arent doing any older cars only 1996 and up mine is a 95,what is the VSS?

Yeah, your car is OBD I. Check your codes by following this tutorial. VSS is Vehicle Speed Sensor, which would throw a code 17 when it's out which causes your speedometer to just stop working basically.

Definitely sounds like a VSS. Not too expensive and easy to fix :thumb:
