BYS wing = FAIL

Is it now? Got an aerodynamic performance test to prove it?

Why the hell would you want to stick the back end down on FRONT WHEEL DRIVE car in the first place?

Maybe you haven't driven your car that fast yet, i.e when cornering at speeds over 200km/h you want som downforce on the rear of the car so it won´t come loose and end up in the morgue/scrapyard.

The bys wing creates to much drag in relations to downforce. Go with spoon och J´s wing instead if you want function instead of styling.

Uh huh.

In which case if you're going to discuss the fine point of aerodynamics then people should be considering a fully functional front splitter and canards that are set up correctly. If you JUST stick the back end down you'll get even more understeer. That just isn't an option, the chassis has too much forward bias as it is.

The point is moot as I bet the majority of people on here will lower a car without considering its effect on roll centre which becomes more pronounced the higher the speeds. Or camber migration, and a proper static alignment for the sort of driving you do. Of course camber migration with a double wishbone suspension is vastly reduced compared to a McPherson strut where you have more suspension travel and less control over the suspension movement as it is inherently less 'rigid'.

Basically:

BYS spoiler is pointless. In every way. And to bring aero into it assumes you actually give a crap about the whole package which none but the track brigade really care about.
