#342734 Hi Guys,

hope someone is able to help me with an issue im having.

I have a EG4 (import), it was a Auto carbureted D15, which i have converted to OBD1. I used a local OBD1 harness from a B18B, then created a Jumper harness to OBD2A for my JDM P73 ecu (DC2 R). the car has a full b18c Type R swap as I had purchased a front clip.

So the issue i have is, High Idle and CEL. code 20, which is ELD.

From my understanding, the car idles higher to produce more volts as it detects its not getting the correct amount?

Issue is i do not have an ELD in the fuse box as this car never came with it, is there a fix for this? Surely other b18c swaps have had this?

Here is the pin outs i used for the Jumper harness

#342741 I thought that JDM cars did not have the ELD, so I'm not sure why your JDM P73 ecu would be throwing the code.

The ELD sensor is located in the fusebox under the hood. I suppose you could try installing a fusebox from a car with ELD, but then you'll still have to run the 3 wires to it. I would look into running a chipped ECU which will allow you to eliminate the ecu looking for the ELD.

The ELD is the square brown box in the center of the pic:

#342782 Thanks Teal,

Yea didnt think it would have ELD, i will try locate the ELD in the fusebox, otherwise worst case ill be changing out the ecu for something else, the high idling is killing my fuel lol

Thanks

#342990 Wanted to post that its RESOLVED! :thumb: in case someone has similar issues they can revert back to this post

I ordered a LM317t voltage regulator - https://www.robotics.org.za/index.php?r ... duct_id=92 which is about $3 for a pack of 10

The ELD needs a voltage of about 3.5v to clear this code - my friend who is a electronic engineer made up a board with resistors etc to get a 12v input down to 3.5v

Image

yellow wire is 12v+ from the cigarette lighter
grey wire is 12v- from cigarette lighter
red wire is the 3.5v to the ELD on the ecu (pinout D16)

this cleared my code and corrected the idle down to 750+-rpm

#342993 Way to think outside the box. Props to you and your buddy :thumb:
