Okay - now..

I'm thinking of painting my car - Yup with cans…

just not shire if i should go with a matt finish - wetsand and then wax it ? OR go with a gloss..
just tried some stud with gloss before - and it makes these nasty tiger stripes when painting…

any suggestions ?

AND will 14 x400ml rattle cans be enough for a hatch ? (allover)

The tiger stripes are hard to avoid with the narrow spray pattern you get from aerosol cans. Especially with metallic colors. If you plan on a high gloss finish, wet sanding and polishing will get your rattle can paint job looking like a professional job. Some paint covers better than others, but 14 cans will be cutting it close. I think I used about that many and I didn't do the hood or roof. I had 7 or 8 coats though.
