Depends.
Are you a noobie to this?
Have you ever done a swap b4?
Are you familiar with honda engines?

If you're not then I say go for a straight forward swap which would be the gsr.

But if you already have sum experience then I say go for the b20/v.

just remember to spell VTEC correctly bro, also list what you plan as a swap.

What GSR motor do you plan to use with what mods?
Same with the B20, however also list what head you will be using.
Like Ej2rey said, all depends on how mechanically sound you are, a B20 VTEC isn't a swap for a noob, you need to know what your doing. The GSR is usually a straight swap out and swap in job, the B20 build includes more complex technicalities.

As for being a faster motor, N/A , it pretty much depends on your setup... stock internals b20-vtec with a b16 or equivelent head and proper fuel modifications in my personal experience will pull a stock gsr...

as for the complexities involved with a b20vtec swap, it's much greater due to the fact that you're creating an actual swap, whereas the GSR swap is pretty much a direct bolt up...

as for the price... i ordered a b16 complete swap from Osaka (this has been a few years) and a b20b long block assembly... it still ran me about $1700 less then a complete GSR swap would've, as well as me having spare parts to sell and made prolly about $800 back, so about $2500 in savings... knowing some of the fine folks i do now, i may have bought the parts off friends, but i do prefer not to buy pre-built motors, i'm a hands on person. with that being said there are things you'll need to complete the swap as well, from tapping your head (local machines shop prolly won't charge more then $30-50), buying a ls/b20vtec oil line kit ($80-150), new head gasket, and things of that sort...

IF YOU PLAN TO BOOST THE CAR, GO GSR, TRANNY IS BETTER FOR IT ANYWAY (as well as having a lil edge with thicker cylinder walls, oil squitters in crank casing, and well being a stock manufactured motor)

send me a message if you have some actual questions besides what is faster :)

B20/vtec is also a stock manufactured motor.
Certain amount were made in japan and came in the del sols.

That motor was never made by honda. Im not sure where you got your info, but its wrong. The B20/Vtec is a hybrid motor. One honda never made.

Could this be what you are talking about? ONCE AGAIN. NOT made by HONDA. Its a Feels modified B series motor. Last time I checked, Feels was not part of honda.

It's a B20 from a CRV with a B16 or B18C head frankensteined on top.

If this is your first time out then get the B18C. Head swaps and engine builds ie LS/VTEC and B20/VTEC aka CRVTEC turn into a money pit and a great deal of them never get fully realized. With the B18C GSR motor, you drop it in with the correct ECU, run the necessary wires, and you're good to go right out of the box.

B20VTEC could take months just to get all the info, parts, trans, and ECU together, while the B18C will take you a weekend to swap in and is sold as a complete changeover.

Come on..., .2 liters displacement? Who cares in a 2200 lb chassis?
