Two dumb questions. I have a few choices with engines. B18 GSR or LS/Vtec? I don't want anything insane so lets make handling and comfort a priority. I also drive my car every day. What would you guys choose, being more experienced with this? I'm getting a good deal on both from a friend.
Also, does the GSR take premium? I never thought about it before.

Unless you know how to build an engince or are taking it to a reputably building and they will cover everything dont even worry about the LS/VTEC.
GSR will be just fine and plenty fast for a daily. Hell, its even what Im building over an LS/VTEC.

Agreed Ive heard stories about peoples LS/VTEC setups failing. Mainly its due to improper installation.

That and the LS/VTEC done right is more expensive than a GSR swap.

yea I hear ya on that. I'm a cheap bastard. I picked up about $600 worth of pieces at the junkyard yesterday (for like $70) so I'm back to being in love with my coupe.

Easy and simple would be GSR.... LSV, you would have to get dial pins(sp). Proper head tappin for oil lines and most important getting the head shaved to seet properly on the block.... It really isn't much.... you can get the head shaved from 40-50 at a machine shop and the Eagle LSV kit will run you about 200... that includes oil lines and everything else...

dont think anybody else mentioned this so i will, ls/vtec is a good motor but u get poor oil circulation which means more oil changes and less motor life.
my 2 cents. ps my buddy had a ls/v and sold it to by a gsr if that helps
