My friend just replaced his water pump in a 95 eg coupe


It has a b18a1 motor in it.

Before the water pump was changed the car ran fine. Just leaked like crazy out of the water pump now its replaced

Car will not crank at all. Nothing turns over.

The radio dash lights all work and come on

Had battery tested has a complete charge.

Tried to jump the starter nothing but a spark

Changed the starter same exact thing just sparks if I jump it doesn't try to turn over... If anyone has A idea what could be wrong PLEASE chime in..

I was thinking maybe ignition switch but I tried to bypass that. And still nothing.

if all you did was replace the water pump. i'm thinking more along the line of something got unplugged and never reconnected.

check the timing again.


you could of tried to start the car with messed up timing and seized the motor

Like bigpun said check the timing and your grounds also check where the wires are grounded on the thermostat cover. that will cause the fuel pump to stop working. But def. check your grounds!!' Hope this helps

Did you get this resolved? Think I'm having a similar issue. Pretty sure my starter has called it quits though. Jumping the starter does nothing. Jumping to the solenoid though, it'll pop out. Having it tested tomorrow.
