Never done an engine swap before. I plan on having a pro do it for me but, I don't want to go into the shop and get blind sided. Its a daily driver. It has the look but I don't drag race. Although I'm not opposed to the idea. I would like to get more power and dependability out of my EG. where do I start? :?

There are a couple b series write up links on the DIY list

That should give you a good overview. :thumb:

I have been reading the DIY topics. I don't really understand some of the tech talk. What in your opinion would be the best engine to fit my needs?

For a reliable daily with some fun power, I'd do a B16 swap. If you have a little more $ to spend, B18 swap.

I still stick with a GSR (B18C) swap being the best balance between power and fun, with good MPG. Personal opinion, and I'm bias because I have the swap done lol.

Thanks for the replies. I appreciate the ideas. The B18's average price is around $2300.00? Its a little more then I want to spend but, that's what I'm finding online. I guess it depends on what I can find for the right price. Anyone have a place they would recommend to buy a motor from?

I found a great article on VTEC engines in SUPER STREET magazine June 2013 issue. Just thought I'd share. :thumb:
