#331304 hello guys i'm planning to swap my d15b to a B18A, is this a straight swap no mods at all? if there is, what is it? do this engines have the same engine mount location? thanks!

#331306 I would not recommend this swap as it isn't really a step forward.
D15B: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_D_engine#D15B

B18A: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Honda_B_engine#B18A

Not only is the B18A an OBD0 motor, it makes 3 HP LESS than the non-vtec D15B, 30 HP LESS than the D15B Vtec and revs to 1000 rpm LESS.

#331309 Oh I assumed you had the D15B motor.

Looking at the D15B3 specs, the B18A will be a good gain in ft/lb torque:

However, it will be far from a direct swap. In addition to the axles, motor mounts, transmission, linkage... converting from carb to fuel injection will be done. (ecu, wiring harness, fuel pump, possibly fuel lines too.)

That's just the main parts, I'm sure there will be some more misc. items.

I think that is a lot of work for such a small upgrade in power.

A B16A (or any B16) or B18b would be more worth the work of the swap.

#331454 suspendedhatch the B18A trans is cable?
By ottofalcon
#331491 You if you cant get a hydro trans you can try the Innovative Steel Hydro to Cable trans mount, I was about 168.00. It comes with the adapters to keep using your hydro system and the cable trans at the same time.
