forgive me if this is in the wrong section
i was given a b series oil cooler/warmer off a mate for free so set about fitting it to my jdm b16a which didnt have one.
so first thing is to remove the oil filter and you will be left with the filter holder
this will need removing from the block as the cooler needs to be sandwiched between the block and the new filter holder
i didnt want to damage the threads but its going in the bin anyway
removed
cooler kit
just to the right of the filter housing is a 14mm bolt (on some this may need drilling and tapping if no bolt is present)
this coolant return adaptor will take its place, its 22mm
next step is to remove the thermostat housing, its held in place with 2 10mm bolts
this will allow the coolant 'tube' from the water pump housing to be with drawn
tube removed
nice new waterpump:)
the old(left) and the new(right)
when refitting the 'tube, i recommend using new o-rings (x2), they are a couple of quid from a honda dealer, when refitting add a bit of vaseline to the rings to help then slide in easier (oooo er) refit the thermostat housing.
and it will look like this
now the cooler can be installed using this, this sandwiches the cooler to the block.
now fitted
now for the coolant lines
and that is it, stand back and admire,
