#302707 I've noticed the specs on both motors and I'm thinking the type R would be better for boost. The gsr does have a lower compression rate but less HP and rpm I've seen. What's your take on the better of the two for boost.

B18C Integra Type-R OBD2 Manual Engine Swap $ 3,199.00

Company: Honda

Code: B18C Integra Type-R OBD2 Manual Engine Swap Year: 96-97

Valve Train: 4-CYLINDER, DOHC VTEC, 16-VALVE Displacement: 1797 cc

Horse Power: 200 HP @ 8100 RPM Torque: 134 LBS-FT @ 6200 RPM Compression: 11.0:1 Red Line: 8400 Transmission: Weight: 700 lbs

B18C Integra GSR OBD1 Manual Engine Swap $ 2,599.00

Company: Honda

Code: B18C Integra GSR OBD1 Manual Engine Swap Year: 94-95

Valve Train: 4-CYLINDER, DOHC VTEC, 16-VALVE Displacement: 1797 cc

Horse Power: 180 HP @ 7600 RPM Torque: 128 LBS-FT @ 6200 RPM Compression: 10.6:1 Red Line: 8200 Transmission: Weight: 700 lbs

Money is not an issue. I'd like to go k series but that's just little too much

#302709 I personally like GSr better the head flows better and unless you have a really good tunner I'd stay away from the type r

#302712 I'm planning on putting nothing but the best in this motor and tuning it from the best place around. I want this motor to be a monster. I just don't know if I Max out the type r or the get witch one will have the most balls lol

#302729 The Type-R is a good solid engine, If your building a car and cant touch the engine a good place to start with.

If you going to work on it the B18c GSR (Sir-G in japan) is a more logical choice. Head is slightly higher compression, has anti qelch pads to fight detonation. It will also have better lower end torque.

You can get tons of bolt ons for the p72 gsr head. the Skunk2 intake manifold is pretty much a ITR intake but will bolt on.

Plus if your swap out cams to anything better then a stage 1 you have better then type-r cams anyways.

The GSR is better for boost as it will fight detanation better. The Type-R engine was setup for n/a circuit racing in mind. If you want to build a turbo engine go for the b18c gsr/sir-g
