Compression and leak-down test (HELP!)

I had my B18B1 compression and leak-down tested today. Somehow the compression test was good but leak-down showed a 40% loss in cylinder #1. The mechanic said there wasn't anything I could do and if it ran fine it wouldn't be a big deal. The engine would just burn some oil so I'd have to keep an eye on it to make sure it didn't get too low.

My question is how can compression be good but leak-down be bad? Any opinions greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Haha. No one?! I asked a couple of friends too and the consensus is that the test was run wrong. Jeez. And this is the better of the two mechanics i've been to recently. Guess I'll just drive the piss out of the B18B and save money for a VTEC swap when this one takes a dump! Thanks anyway!
