Should I trade my 95 si hatch with a jdm d15 for a 1991 si hatch with a b18b1 I think,

which one would be fast both have i/h/e , both cars in relatively the same shape, mine's a little nicer done.

x2
EF's, Especally OBD0 EF's are a pain to work on. Having helped my friends on their ef's I was so glad I didn't own one.

The EF is in better shape then my EG though, and around here a B16 tranny is 900 and LS motor is 600 then + motor mounts + ECU, so its not really a cheap swap here.

eg all the way

ive worked on a few ef's and well honda got really god with keeping the engine bay clean of vacuum lines the obd0 crap got upgraded and i would have to say that the eg in all is easier to live with.....

this is comming from someone who loves and wants a crx lol

i mean there are pros for haveing a ef
cable trans are easier to find then our hydro however most of the years came with weak transmissions not even worth useing....

you can pretty much take the whole front end apart which you kinda have to do to get the engine out as there is that stupid beam that blocks you from being able to drop your engine straight thru and go....

parts seem to be getting cheaper for some reason i dont understand it at all but this is based on a few jdm things ive seen dont know if its due to supply and demand or something else entirely....

now your eg si is going to be worth more no matter what in my mind than a swapped ef and it will last longer and be easier to work on etc....

plus when the time comes for you to get a b series you wont have to rely on aftermarket mounts that could fail or something else like that .....

long story short stay eg

Chiming in a second time.

If the guy with a B Series ef wants to trade for a D series eg that should tell you something. He has issues. He is tired of his shitty obd0 dizzys going out.

Honda OBD1 Cars are amazing relaible for 15-19 Year old cars. The EF's with OBD0 not so much. My Friend has had a LS ef wagovan for about 9months and went through 3 dizzys and when he sold it the 3rd was on its way out. His new ef wagon with a Built b16 is on his second dizzy. Its starting to mess up and will to be replaced. He has had it 2-3Months.

His LS wagon wasn't as bad as he could get junkyard dizzys. However on the B16 he has to buy a brand new dizzy. You will go through quite a few of them.

You will also loose airbags and a safier stronger bodied car when going from an EG to an EF. My Friends where trying to get me to buy a EF Wagon or a DA with them. Its just not worth going to obd0 and dealing with them.
Currently you can see lots them in the junkyard, however none have a good swap and most are beat on pretty bad. In a few years you wont see as many in the junkyards and be hurting for parts. While EG's will be more common in them.

I would rather personally have a Beat on EG then a Fresh EF. EG's have so much more potential then the EF's. Want to go H? wanna to a J Swap? your pretty much stuck with D's or B's unless you want to beat the heck out of your bay with a sludge hammer and run super gay ricer hoods.
