Just run with the S2 springs and retainers. Most cam companies design their springs and retainers to work in conjunction with their cams. Toda and Toda, S2 and S2, etc.

No need to change the valves?

I also saw somewhere that it was good to upgrqade the LMA's since the b16's lma's usually go bad.

It wouldn't hurt to change the LMAs, but only if you feel like spending another $200+.

Yeah, I think mine are not that good anyways. they make a pretty loud tick noise. Feels like I have a time bomb haha

I'm guessing you've already adjusted your valves?

Yeah I adjusted them, it makes them a little quiet but still kind of loud. I been searching and after changing the LMA's they say it makes a difference.

pretty much just summing up what everyone else said, but springs and retainers are necessary for the longer duration and higher lift, so get at least that if you havent already. lma's are extra. you dont need valves, but depending on what what your motor goals are (na/turbo) you can get oversized and/or higher compression valves that s2 offers. as far as the regular maintenance goes, water pump, timing belt and tensioner, and head gasket is great for beginning a new build. good luck
