Sleeves with an 84mm bore will get you almost to 2.0l with the stock crank, but you ought to use the LS crank with the slightly longer stroke to get to right around 1976cc or just a cunt hair less than 2.0l.

Wouldn't a B20 block make them 2L?

Yes, but he was asking what it would take to make a GSR block displace 2.0l.

With the LS/B20 crank comes the matching rods. the GSR will be to long.

Poorman's Type R would be more reliable IMO. GSR block with B16 head. No need to tap anything or plug anything. It's literally a head swap. You just have to use the B16 head bolts or head studs, which ever you choose, and the B16 distributor (slightly different mounting tabs from the GSR distributor).

You actually use GSR/ITR studs. I know, I was building one. I have some ARP studs for mine still.

ITR/B16 are the same head, GSR head is slightly different. IIRC, the GSR head sits taller than the B16/ITR head. Could be the other way around, though.

B16a and B18c block is different as well.
GSR/ITR headstuds are the ones to use. Do a bit more searching.

Yeah the B16 and B18C1 blocks are different, but how does that change which studs to use?

Use the studs for the block.
Have you never looked up how to build a poormans type r?

It's been a good while. I figured the threads in the two blocks would be the same as far as depth goes. It doesn't make sense to me that you'd use the studs for the block when one head is taller than the other. I don't know if the pressure surface where the washer sits on the head is at a different height between either head.
