Are you planning on just having a stock b series to feel a little more power than a single cam or are you looking to build it too? Because with 2 grand you might be able to get a gsr swap but i would go with a b16. It really just depends what you want to do with the motor.

If you had 2 grand i would say go with a b16. Its more power than a single cam and it is really cheap, especially compared to a gsr. An b18b is a good motor but you don't have vtec and the ls-vtec is the most unreliable motor. So yeah, a b16 is a way to go. Are you going to try and get it barred or are you just going to swap it in and swap your single cam back for a the smog.

Your b series wont pass the emission test for a smog.

Why wont it pass? Loads of people have B series motors that pass all sorts of smog tests.

if its a complete changeover you wouldn't need anything else and that so call "friend" doesn't sound like one if he would tell you that you need more stuff just to turn around and sell it

Go to this-

I think there motors are cheaper, but the only thing i think you will need is axels and mounts, but you live in Florida and you can swap any motor in without going through all the regualtions like we have here in Cali. so you should be good on that
