a P28 is an OBD1 VTEC ECU. It can be chipped and a DOHC fuel map can be placed on the chip.

P28 are very popular as of their abundance compared to B series VTEC ECUs in the OBD1 series ie. (GSR, Del Sol VTEC)

A P30 does not run a B16A3 bad, it actually runs it the way honda intended it to run. If you want more performance, a tune with a CHIPPED VTEC ECU is in order. That can be a P30 or a P28 or p72. I think you should get a P28 (as they are more abundant than a P30) to chip because the P30 would be ruined when you add the ZIF socket into it.

B16A3 is a Del Sol B16A. OBDI
B16A2 is a 99 Civic Si B16A. OBDII
