LS/VTEC = bad idea. People think this is a cheap way to go but if done cheaply, it becomes unreliable. If you put some real money behind it, you'll get some amazing power. But if power is your goal then why VTEC? Why not forced induction or a high revving, high compression build?
GSR head requires GSR intake manifold. So you will need to use a GSR ECU in order to control the secondaries, or else get an aftermarket manifold that eliminates them. GSR is a small port head for better low end with a combustion chamber more resistant to detonation. GSR head will give you higher compression.
B16... well, Honda decided to replace the GSR head with a B16 head when they made the B18C5. The B16 head is for all out top end power.

A poor mans Type R uses a B16a head. Since its as close as you can get to a ITR head with out getting one.
