There's no mistaking the y8 for any other manifold...

Notice the big fat plenum compared to the skinny D16z6 and D16b7 plenum.

99-00 y8's have cold start assist, which will need to be blocked off when used on earlier D series.
The 4 tiny holes on the mounting surface, above each runner, must be filled/welded/blocked and the extra vacuum line on top of the flange can be capped off.

Also note the webbing between the runners.

A D16y5 intake manifold looks similar to the y8 intake manifold, but it has an EGR valve, which is NOT what you want to use.
Also look for a manual y8 intake manifold, as the automatics have the IACV built into the throttle body.

My D16y8 mani looks a little different like I dont got the little buttom caped the one between the 2nd and 3rd ports. and a little more different.

- Wed Mar 24, 2010 1:23 pm #183366 this thread has great info.... i have seen so many diff. versions of the y8 intake at leas 4 now... one i got ahold of one time was never drilled for a idle air control valve from the factory... any idea why that is? im jw :eh:

thanks :D i allways kinda wondered, it was in the back of my mind from a while ago when i put that one on my hatch when it had a mini me in it, and this thread reminded me of it...

and i saw a lil bit of an improvment, not like and hp gain just seemed like it was followin better :thumb:
