Quick question. Do I need to pull the crank to do a front main seal on My D16Z6?

you do not have to drop the crank for the rear main seal either. although you do have to drop the tranny

Okay so is it as simple as removing the crank gear for the timing belt and removing and replacing the main seal? Or do you need to drop the pan? I am only asking cause I just redid the oil pan gasket about a month or 2 ago and only put 500 miles on it since. But I would hate to remove the pan again if I didn't have to.

Pan does not have to come off. Remove pulley, timing belt, gears, washers, etc. Front main is built into the oil pump. I use a small snap on seal extractor. Basically I drill a small pilot hole, screw this puller in, and it has a small slide hammer to remove the seal. Clean the surfaces, and then install the new seal. I use a large socket and a soft mallet to install the seal evenly.
