Hello guys,
I have just installed the famous JDM 3 stage vtec on my eg7. The motor came with the automatic P2J-J62 ecu.
I have used my S20 5 speed manual tranny but I know I am not getting the second vtec power. Can any hack be done to activate the second vtec ?

You need the manual ECU and to switch to a manual idle air control valve. The IACV is just like the D16Y8.

That's an OBD2 motor, right? Going into an OBD 1 car... So you'll also need an OBD2-OBD1 conversion harness. I think there's a thread about this from a couple years back... brb.

Slightly unrelated, but full of good info, the guy wanted to use the motor with a regular auto tranny instead of a CVT - no such ECU to run that. In your case, you want the manual ecu, which is P2J-003.
