#357246 Why is it I can't find any information about this?

A load of people recommended replacing the tensioner, so I grabbed everything OEM for it. The spring, the bolt, some other weird thing and the new tensioner pulley itself. I'm doing timing belt / waterpump this week starting yesterday.

Even the service manual doesn't mention it, and every writeup. They just talk about loosening and tightening it, which I understand. Does anybody have any resources for actually replacing the tensioner? Thanks.

#357261 If it's anything like the B series it's just one bolt on an eccentric that holds it down and then the spring hooks to the tensioner and a nipple screwed into the block for a little preload. Let me look at the FSM. Should be pretty straight forward though

#357267 Right, right. Thank you. I figured it would be something like that. Once I get my lower cover off I can check it out. Probably something like.. mount the tensioner and then use pliers to pull the spring back and hook it.
