So my manual says that the gap for the top compression ring should be
around 0.010 inches But when I look on the eBay listing for NPR piston rings,
it says that the first group is 1.2mm, which is 0.047 inches. All the listing I have seen say the same thing. Help?

Here is the listing:

#344956 Hi, I've got an Haynes manual 1991 to 1996.
Top compression ring
All others..... 0.030 to 0.060mm
Service limit ....0.13mm
Second
All others......0.030 to 0.055mm
Service......0.13mm
Ring end gap
Top.....0.15 to 0.30mm
Service....0.60mm
Second....0.30mm to 0.45mm
Service....0.70mm
Oil control D15B7.......0.20 to 0.80
Service.......0.90mm

You have 2 choices
1. You gonna go to Honda dealer and buy the rings set
2. You gonna try the NPR set and see what is going to happen
2.1 Swap :)

P.s. Maybe the 1.2mm is the ring gap without sliding on the cylinder walls.

I guess I'll try the NPR ones and see what happens. I'll talk it over
with my father and i'll get back to you guys.

All of my friends are telling me to just sell the car and get a new one, but I'm taking this as a challenge. My car is testing me to see how long I'll stick with it, and I'm not gonna fail 8)

Thanks! and I agree! Nowadays, whenever something major happens to someone's car, they just sell it and buy a new one, or take it to a mechanic and pay an arm and a leg to fix it! It just rubs me the wrong way :x
