I just assumed since it was about swapping internals it wouldn't pertain to my issue but now who's looking like a jackass. . .

Or will I be fine as long as the new rotor goes on oriented the same way the old one came off? (presumably easy, because of the screw)

shouldn't, just don't spin the motor backwards.
