misfire on idle

Hey guys, some advice needed please.

What can be causing my D15 to mis and idle erratically ?
Almost like the car has a after market cam in but it doesn't.

And when I drive then its fine.

I've changed spark plugs and leads, service and checked the timing so far.

Thanks in advance

Sorry just to add some info that might help trouble shooting.

My old spark plugs had oil on them. Put new ones in now though.

was the timing correct or did u adjust it?

if u adjusted it, did u jump the connector with a paper clip?

Honestly its being idling like this for years now but has gotten worse lately.

I drove for a few years with the idling retarded by 2 degrees cause the car felt more
Responsive but then my old mechanic set the timing back to normal as per book specification.

Just another thing when I put my lights on the idling gets worse and
idles at about 400 rpm.like the something is draining the power.but when I drive its fine.

sounds like you have a bad alternator turn on all your lights and unplug your battery if its still running and doesnt change its fine but if it tries or does die you need a knew alternator do all this with the car running

I would check your battery terminals and all grounds first to be sure they are clean/making good contact.
