- Thu Nov 29, 2012 6:33 pm #321187 rebuilding my lower end over the winter b/c the rings are shot and it smokes. i was told there is a specific grit of hone to use. anybody have any idea? ive looked it up on a few different forums and cant find anything and the haynes manual here at work doesnt say either

- Thu Nov 29, 2012 8:14 pm #321196 I just use a 320 grit AO (aluminum oxide) hone usually. Never had any oil control problems
