D15b7 Distributor fit D15b2

kinda a simple question, but I can't find an answer anywhere.

I've got a D15b2 engine, DPFI, with a dead dizzy. Would a D15b7 dizzy fit the D15b2 and run alright even though it's MPFI?

I have reason to believe it will fit but I would love a 2nd opinion/confirmation as I don't want to get the wrong replacement part!

Why cant you find the one that fits your motor instead?

I've got a D15b7 alternator spare from my coupe, but I can't test fit it as the other car [D15b2] is currently stranded miles away. I don't want to travel out to the car to find out it doesn't fit, so just checking before so it's not a wasted journey, but I can't find any details on the dizzys.

I asked my friend ccr85 and he said yes it will bolt up but, it needs to be wired up, and the d15b7 has the cam sensor inside the distributer. So with some work its possible but not plug and play i guess.

Ah thanks mate, good news then. I'm not sure how to check the OBD but i believe the D15b7 & b2 are both OBD1.

If its mpfi then its obd1. 1991 ad older were obd0. They made both versions of that motor. Dual point was obd0 mpfi was obd1. And every thing ive read points to that.

there is no mpfi d15b2...that is d15b7 with mpfi...d15b2 and d15b7 are completly same engines with different injection...d15b2 dpfi, d15b7 mpfi.
don't trust in all you read on wikipedia :)

Havn't managed to get up to the car yet, going tomorrow to see what will happen. But in regards to the b2 vs b7, Pics for comparison, note the inlet:

D15b2 [DPFI]:

D15b7 [MPFI]:

Now due to this the OBD could be different as the actual inlet is different so could be using OBD0/1, however as they're both marketed as the 1.5LSi in England, so it should be a universal part as it's been marketed as the same car, and both be OBD0?
