- Wed Sep 11, 2013 4:43 am #336550 i have a 89 2hg i put a 93 d16z6 in it want to hook the vtec up to my shift light is it necessary to hook up the oil pressure sensor up cause ive seen them caped off before

- Wed Sep 11, 2013 1:29 pm #336572 Yes the oil pressure sensor is needed. Vtec will not engage if oil pressure is to low and without the sensor, how will the ecu know there is any oil pressure?
