what shape is it?
the oil pressure sensor has only 1 wire going to it, but it is round, not really a clip.
The vtec solenoid has 1 wire going to it, square clip, but it's not on the back of the motor...

yep, oil pressure sensor.
only other option is the y7, y8, y5 motors have a knock sensor. I don't know anything about it or where it is or how many wires they have. But yours sounds like oil pressure sensor.

yeah knock is OBD2 only, just ignore it if you have an OBD1 ecu
