- Fri Nov 11, 2011 5:16 am #281067 BMW has gotten the patent on electric turbos... for the next M3(some sources say it'll have 3 turbos, one of which is electric). It supposedly will also come with the alternator strapped to the bottom of it.

its genius though if you think about it - start the turbine up in lower rpms and then the motor stops when the turbine catches up.
