I'm in the market for a Canon Rebel XT so if anyone knows someone that is selling one let me know

I was just looking at new cameras yesterday... thinking about a D40, $519.00 brand new doesnt seem too bad.

only thing about the D40 is it's bare basics and only 6.1mega pixles if i were to get a D40 it's be a D40x which is better then the regular D40, i'd love a Rebel XSi though but 999 is a little more then i have lol

But if you go for the D40 it's on sale at futureshop right now

my brother has a D80. im not so photosavvy with the stuff. hahah

I think that would be a pretty cool idea, Just cause this is a car forum, doesn't have to be strictly to cars

ya that is a good idea! I know when i get my cam i'll be snaping pics left and right.

I was using a rebel Xt last night... thats a nice camera too... but the display is only 1 1/2 inches i think.

Agreed, i'm looking at an XT right now, and hopefully get it soon, I've even been tossing the idea of taking a photography course at College as well

I personally don't think paying more for only a few SMALL differences is worth it! I would just go big and get a D80 if i wanted something more than the D40.

D40x's only differences between D40 are

10 megapixel sensor
Lower base sensitivity (ISO 100 vs ISO 200)
Auto ISO option includes ISO 200
Faster continuous shooting (3 fps vs. 2.5 fps)*

IMO unless your planning on blowing your pics up into posters, the 4 more megapixels dont mean shit.

The d40 takes awesome pictures and for the price... Its a great camera!
