#6908689 Jeez, coming up on 2 years since you all saw anything new with this turd  It's gotten pretty interesting!

We pretty much went to a video only format to better document, so there aren't many photos to share. So I'll start where I left off in 2016...

We slacked off for a year and finally got motivated to figure out how to engineer a functioning tailgate using hood hinges from a 90's Camaro.

Not too long after, we learned of the first annual 2017 Detroit Gambler 500 and decided the Weirdmobile was going to be our vehicle of choice!
https://youtu.be/o_y1tgyjCjc

We had a huge to-do list to get the car reliable and ready for a long trip, but instead we decided it would be more fun to lift it and put on truck tires :D
https://youtu.be/WWFx572LQLQ

Still ignoring our to-do list, we though it needed a custom roof rack for extra storage... so we got some scrap metal and welded away!

With 1 week to go before the Gambler 500 and nothing crossed off of our to-do list, we decided to get to work. First thing to do is figure out why the car won't start  :?

#6909191 It's been a loooong time since I posted about this car. It sat outside for a few more years lol.

One night we decided to get it running (long process) but years of Ohio road salt caused some major rust, to the point where it was sketchy to put up on a lift: https://youtu.be/2SLrM1Lgkb8

So I had a spare not-too-rusty rolling frame from a 1987 Toyota 4wd pickup.

Then we bought a 1989 Toyota 4wd pickup with a VERY rusty frame and a 3.0 v6 & 5 speed for $500 as a drivetrain donor for the 87 frame:

Next we modified the 87 frame to fit the V6/5speed drivetrain from the 89 truck:

And that brings us to 2022! We haven't worked on it much this year... hoping to get back into it soon!
